Here a copy of the announce on comp.os.cpm:

"Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

it has quite been a while, anyway, technical things first.

I have released z80pack 1.18, you'll find it at:

http://www.autometer.de/unix4fun/z80pack/

This version includes all released patches for 1.17 and several bug fixes and corrections, to make it working under the current POSIX compatible Open Systems, too much to mention that all here.

If you have derived a system from the Z80 core included in z80pack 1.17, you still are ok, there are no changes to the Z80 logic.

The most interesting part of the new release is, that I finaly found the time to finish the FIF disk controller for the IMSAI 8080 machine. Means, the machine now can boot IMDOS 2.05, disk images are included.

Of course it is a lot of fun to watch the 3D computer model running CP/M applications with the flickering lights from the front panel. But the emulation also might be helpfull, if you have a real machine but no working boot disk. The emulation runs the original IMDOS 2.05 bits as available, no customized BIOS. Configuring the OS for a real machine is possible with the emulation, and I'm pretty certain that such a created disk will boot on the real machine.

Many thanks to Tilmann Reh for hosting the z80pack Distribution, many thanks to all the others who offer a mirror. You should check Tilmann's site from time to time and update your mirror, because future stuff will become available there. I do not have the time to bringup unix4fun.org on some ISP machine and take care about it. Tilmann is so kind to offer a home for this at his place for now.

Best regards,
Udo Munk"
